How to Get a TIN ID Card in the Philippines

TIN1 min readUpdated May 25, 2026

The TIN card is the physical ID that shows your Tax Identification Number. The BIR issues it as your reference for tax purposes. Here is how to get one.

What the TIN card is

The TIN card is issued by the Bureau of Internal Revenue as proof of the TIN already assigned to you. It is your identification for taxation purposes.

You need a TIN before you can get the card, since the card simply documents a number you already have.

How to apply

Applying for a TIN card generally works like this:

  • Use BIR Form 1905 to request the card.
  • Apply at the Revenue District Office (RDO) where you are registered.
  • Appear in person. For the TIN card, personal appearance is required and a representative cannot apply on your behalf.

Bring a valid government ID, and confirm the current requirements before you go since they can change.

First card and replacements

A first-time TIN card is issued as proof of your existing TIN. If your card is lost or damaged, you can request a replacement, also through BIR Form 1905.

Ask AskOnward for the current requirements and any fee for a replacement card.

Frequently asked questions

What form do I use to get a TIN card?
You request a TIN card using BIR Form 1905 at the Revenue District Office where you are registered.
Can someone get my TIN card for me?
No. For the TIN card, personal appearance is required and a representative cannot apply on your behalf.
Is the TIN card the same as the TIN?
No. The TIN is the number itself, assigned for life. The TIN card is the physical ID that displays that number, so you need a TIN first before you can get the card.
